Baltimore Youth Caddie Collective
The Baltimore Youth Caddie Collective is powered by First Tee- Greater Baltimore, the Evans Scholars Foundation and the Caves Valley Golf Club Foundation. The collective is designed to help young people gain a better understanding of the game of golf, learn valuable life lessons, and develop youth into leaders on and off the golf course though caddying.
Members of the Baltimore Youth Caddie Collective, known as the ‘Caddie Squad’, are required to participate in a series of caddie training sessions in a classroom setting and on the golf course. Trainings will be led by local golf professionals and First Tee staff and will begin in February. These training sessions ensure that each student learns the basics of caddying, how to use the ClubUp App and has had ample on-course training prior to caddying for members at our partner clubs*.
Caddie Squad members will be assigned a ‘home club’ along with a mentor at that club. Squad members are expected to complete at least 20-30 loops during the summer months across our partner clubs. Please note: Caddies are considered Independent Contractors.
Students that are accepted into the Baltimore Youth Caddie Collective increase their eligibility to apply for college scholarships through the Evans Scholars Foundation and the Caves Valley Golf Club Foundation. Both scholarship opportunities are limited to young people with caddying experience and can be truly life changing.
